No question... those of us living at this lodge have a continual feast, and it's not just food, although the food is great. At every meal we enjoy a feast for the eyes as well. Only our loving Father could bring dear ones from all over the world to this spectacular corner of His earth. The view from the dining room - forest, mountains, the sky's shifting colours... we are blessed.
At the same time, as students at Charis Bible College, there is a table laden to nourish our minds. Course upon course of rich teaching from God's Word is served up. Isaiah spoke of receiving knowledge precept upon precept and line upon line. (Isaiah 28:9-10) In portions of just the right size, we can digest revelations of precious truth.
As we develop skills in sharing what we've been taught we can also be fed as the Lord Jesus was. After ministering to the Samaritan lady at the well in Sychar, He was not anxious for the natural food his disciples brought to Him. Doing whatever His Father asked satisfied His appetite. (John 4:31-34)
David said, "The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. (Psalm 145:15-16 NKJV). The chickadees feast on seeds in the pine cones, Every creature finds in nature its life-giving food. For man, God's rich provision for spirit, soul and body is always available.
